ABOUT BLDX
BLDX (Balad X) is a collaborative party series project launched by MARSM Canada, Beatlalipos, MXK, and visual artist Joy - a shared effort to celebrate the bold, genre-defying sounds coming from the Arab world and its diaspora. This project was born out of a shared passion for the region's sonic evolution and it aims to provide a cultural platform built by artists for a community ready to dance, connect, and listen deeper.
The name Balad (بلد) - Arabic for city, homeland, or place - anchors the project in belonging and memory. The “X” marks the intersection: of styles, generations, and geographies. Together, BLDX becomes a meeting point between past and future, tradition and experimentation, the familiar and the unexpected.
